Increase Subliminal Learning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t linger in the garden you will never pick up all the subliminal and complex communications plants, soil, wildlife, weather, and climate convey throughout the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Leverage Ecological Understanding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you don’t participate in that deep, non-human communication, you run the risk of gardening by the book<\/em> without understanding the ecological nuances unique to your garden. (That usually doesn’t end well for your plants or your garden aspirations.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Get More Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Books, blog posts, or advice from others can only point the way. They can not make up for using your own senses and building broad, personal experience by becoming part of the ecology of your garden area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Hone Your Intuition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your intuition won’t work as well because you simply won’t have enough information to go on. You’ll make more mistakes because you won’t be tuned in to all the natural and seasonal happenings in the life of your garden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A Room of Your Own<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You’ll also miss out on the chance to make the garden a room of your own<\/em>. Gardens without seating have a way of becoming a place where you show up to work and get a paid with a harvest of vegetables, flowers, or quick appreciation of beauty. Yet, without designating a spot to plant<\/em> yourself so you can feel rooted<\/em>, you will always be a visitor rather than a resident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garden Seating Inspiration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are so many different kinds of seating types depending on what’s comfortable for you and your design aesthetic, budget, creative interests, and space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

To transform a garden into a living room, use plush furniture and decorative pillows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

For a woody shade grotto perhaps a swing seat will lure you to linger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Rescued boards and a few cinder blocks make an inexpensive bench option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Temporary folding chairs and a table will allow you to sit, imagine, take notes, and get to know a new area while hatching your garden plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Keep a blanket with your garden tools to lay on. Feel the humidity around the plants. Experience the temperature of the soil. Then, watch the clouds go by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a large garden, you may need multiple seating options (like all of mine shared in this post)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
